Gun Registry

Liberal MP Frank Valeriote (Guelph) has a campaign “Save Lives, Save the Gun Registry,”

What a load of crock. The registry has never been proven to save any lives. In fact, there have been several multi-murder cases since the gun registry went into effect. Most notably, a RCMP officer.

STOP wasting money on this poorly constructed and ineffective program. PLEASE!!

Death to America?

So a few pinheads in Miami Florida plan on burning at least one copy of the Koran. Ok, so it's a "desecration to something that's very sacred to" muslims. I understand them getting pissed, but it is just a book. There's many more out there.

What I find interesting it that muslim scholars state the Koran is about peace and living with one another. If so, then why are thousands marching in Kabul chanting "Death to America"?

So for a few people ignorant enough to burn one of these books, the retaliation is to murder a nation?

I can only conclude that if given the chance for muslims to rule the world, we'd all be in deep doodoo.

Frankly, I'm sick and tired of the "Death to America" crap. It seems if they have a bad dinner, or stub their toe - it's "Death to America".

Please explain again why so many western forces are there to bring democracy to a nation that does not appear to want us there?

Gaza and Israel

Why is it that as soon as any peace talks resume (begin, whatever word you wish to choose), some group of Palestinian militants (i.e Hamas) start firing rockets into Israel? They KNOW it will result in an Israeli response. They WANT one. They WANT the fight. PEACE is the furthest thing from what they want.

Frankly, I'm sick and tired of hearing the 'Oh poor Palenstine!' comment. The militants don't want peace, they want the annihilation of Israel - period.

Most Palestinians are being used by the greater arab world (e.g. Iran, Syria) to "fight the good fight". They've been duped, used, bought, sold and/or brainwashed into this hostile assualt on Israel.

I am not Jewish by-the-way, so stop thinking that's my angle.

Given the size of Israel and the size of every nation surrounding it, I'd say the Palestinians have it pretty good. If only their neigboring arab nations would support their economic growth instead of their agenda to rid the planet of Israel, would these people prosper.

Toronto Workers on Strike

Being a city dweller, one would think that I really want to see a quick end to this strike. But I've come to realize I'd rather see the union members swelter in the heat until after Labour day. These baffoons do not realize that their paychecks come from tax payers who are fed up with the constant increase in tax payments and fees that compose their paychecks. Losing the ability to 'bank' sick days is NOT a reason to strike. It's a reason to gripe over a beer after work. Yes, WORK. What you are lucky to have being employed.

I've heard many angles on this issue and welcome yours.
